Helen E. Wilbur, Ph.D.Dr. Helen Wilbur received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Professional School of Psychology (San Francisco) in 1986. Her pre- and post-doctoral studies and internships focused in the field of Medical Psychology, providing psychological treatment and support services to medical patients. Dr. Wilbur has continued her focus on Medical Psychology within her private practice, working closely with physicians and surgeons. Her specialties include chronic pain management, pre-surgical counseling, post-surgical support, and lifestyle adjustments to physical diagnoses. She is highly skilled in treating conditions that are generally first seen by physicians including insomnia, anxiety, depression related to physical illness/injury, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Dr. Wilbur was also the first professional to provide hypnosis for anaesthesia during surgery in Sonoma County. Dr. Wilbur provides consultation to physicians and patients both locally and nationally, and has taught courses on Medical Psychology both nationally and internationally.

Alisa Liguori, Ph.D.

Alisa Liguori, Ph.D.Dr. Alisa Liguori received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (Los Angeles) in 1999, with a specialty in Health Psychology. Her pre- and post-doctoral work has occurred in a variety of settings, ranging from rural and urban community mental health clinics to inpatient and outpatient geropsychiatric programs. She has assisted in medical and medical psychology research investigations at John Wayne Cancer Institute and at UCLA Medical Center, and has provided counseling services as a Registered Psychologist with the Sonoma County Mental Health Resource Team and as a Substance Abuse Counselor with Sonoma County Alcohol and Drug Services. Dr. Liguori specializes in the treatment of adults and older adults, and utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches in her work, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Medicine, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, and Hypnotherapy. Her interests in Mind-Body medicine are broad and varied, and include the areas of traumatic brain injury, stress management, grief, coping and resilience, aging, and the interface between physical conditioning, cognitive function and emotional and physical adaptation. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Redwood Psychological Association.
